Schedule

Arrivals begin Friday, September 28, 2018 at 4 pm. The Sunday, ecumenical Holy Communion/Lord’s Supper and Healing Service will climax the retreat that ends after our noon meal on September 30, 2018.

Speaker

Sande Hart is the Director of the Women and Girls sector and volunteer staff of the International Charter for Compassion and Past President of the United Religions Initiative for North America. She is an expert on developing a City of Compassion and Founder of Compassionate California. She is also Founder and current President of SARAH (Spiritual And Religious Alliance for Hope) women’s interfaith organization celebrating their 16th year in August.

Sande is passionate about finding creative solutions, weaving relationships for collective impact and convening opportunities for unprecedented unified action by conforming to our highest and deepest value systems. To that end, Sande developed SDG18 the unofficial UN Sustainable Development Goal of “Personal Responsibility and Self Advocacy”

Sande is the mother of two, a community activist and catalyst for a culture of collaboration, generosity, healing, and harmony. Her passion for disrupting patterns of unhealty communal behaviors and uncovering new solutions for old problems keeps her up at night.

Musical Leadership

LaJuna K. Washington-Elson uses a God given voice to enable people to join in singing praises to God. She seeks opportunities to use her gift to bring joy to others. She is the Song Leader at the English Language Ministry worship service of Wesley United Methodist Church in San Diego. She is the mother of two young adults and a grandmother who is exploring new possibilities in her life such as the culinary arts.

Nancy Davis is a long time member of DOC who spends her summers in Maine and winters in Los Angeles where she is active in All People’s Christian Church. She is an expert on the keyboard and plays with humility and grace.
